Reminder: Vegan Pot Luck Dinner Saturday Nite Don't forget Healthy Planet of Brevard's monthly vegan pot-luck dinner this Saturday nite at 6 PM at Appleseed Health Foods (www.appleseedhealth.com) located at 1007 Pathfinder Way Suite 110 Rockledge, FL 32955 (321) 631-1444 Come join us and help make this an awesome get together. The pot-lucks are relaxed, fun events that offer a delicious demonstration of the possibilities and appeal of a plant-based diet. They create a healthy sense of community and give like-minded individuals in the area a chance to meet one another. Bring your best Vegan dishes, casseroles, salads or desserts to share. Please bring enough food for your family and a little bit more. Please no meat, fish, dairy, eggs, Jell-O, marshmallows or honey. We encourage you to bring your own dishes and utensils. We kindly ask that you label your food with a copy of the recipe. This helps people with allergies to know if they can sample your dish. All are welcome! Healthy Planet of Brevard is very pleased to announce that we will be taking part in this year’s Sunsational Earthfest at the Florida Solar Energy Center on April 18th. HPoB’s very own Richard Powell will be giving an informative talk about the multifaceted negative environmental impacts of a meat-based diet at 11 AM. The event as a whole starts at 9 AM and goes until 4 PM. Aside from giving a presentation we will also have a table present, so stop by and say hello! Here is an event description from the FSEC’s website: This event is designed with the whole family in mind. Admission is free! There will be a wide variety of activities offered, ranging from games for children to practical strategies for homeowners, to high-tech information for science buffs and engineers.

We are returning to Cara Mia in Cocoa Village for our April 2009 Vegan Dining Out. This is a lovely restaurant in a lovely setting near the Indian River with great food and excellent service. We have 3 entrée choices, so be sure to pick one when you make your reservation. We hope to see you there!
