Healthy Planet Interim Update This is an update for two upcoming events, our monthly potluck and our annual Turkey-free Thanksgiving. First the monthly potluck: Hello conscious individuals of Brevard, We wanted to drop you a friendly note to remind you that the monthly vegan potluck is this Sunday, Nov. 11th starting at 5:30pm at the Holmes Regional Medical Center. Please bring a dish of food, and remember, no eggs, dairy, honey, jell-o, marshmellows, et cetera. We encourage you to bring your own plate and utensils (and appetite!) so we don't have to use disposable ones. This month's potluck is in a different room from normal, here are the directions: The November 11th potluck will be held in the Multipurpose Room at Holmes Regional Medical Center. This change is for November only. Enter HRMC through Hickory Street, Entrance B. This is the outpatient entrance. Go through the outpatient waiting area to the hallway and left into the Cafeteria. Go completely through the cafeteria and out the far exit door to the hallway Directly across the hallway is another door which is marked: HRMC Multipurpose Room. You will be looking at it when you come out the exit into the hallway. Visitor parking is directly across the street on the East side of Hickory St. We hope to see you there! Sincerely, Richard Next our Turkey Free Thanksgiving: Please email or print the invitation below for your friends and family so that we can have a good turn out for our TFT. The Healthy Planet The Healthy Planet “Food Choices for Health, Compassion, Animals and the Environment” Healthy Planet of Brevard... health, compassion, animals, environment Upcoming Events Vegan Potluck Every second Sunday of the month we hold our monthly vegan potluck at Holmes Regional Hospital Auditorium in Melbourne. The Auditorium has been reserved from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. Our potlucks are relaxed, fun events that offer a delicious demonstration of the possibilities and appeal of a plant-based diet. They create a healthy sense of community and give like-minded individuals in the area a chance to meet one another. Bring your best vegan dishes, casseroles, salads and desserts to share for this potluck. Please bring enough food for your family and a little bit more. Please no meat, fish, dairy, eggs, Jell-O, marshmallows or honey. Please bring your own dishes and utensils. Please label your food with a copy of the recipe, this helps people with allergies to know if they can sample your dish. All ages are welcome. Please let me know if you are interested. Eric Membership Message Welcome to Healthy Planet of Brevard! Please consider joining us. What if we didn’t have members? What would we do if no one renewed their membership or became a new member of HPoB? Without your membership dollars we could probably continue with the Dining Night Out’s but we certainly couldn’t pay the travel of some of our guest speakers. The Big events like the Turkey-free Thanksgiving Dinner and the Independence from Meat picnic would be canceled (it costs us to rent the pavilions and we purchase some of the food). And we couldn’t even think about restarting out potluck dinners. So please do support our great events and join as a paid member of Healthy Planet. Our Mission We inspire people to shift towards a plant-centered diet to improve their health, to encourage compassion for animals, and to achieve a sustainable environment. Core Group Election Our core group has openings available. Please join this great group of helpful people who want to bring about a more compassionate and healthy Brevard County. The election for next years core members will be held at the end of December or early January. ------------------------------------------------------------- Our group celebrates diversity. Please join us at one of our events, bring the family, bring a friend. Interested in Florida Native Plants? Maple Street Natives, Inc. Maple Street Natives Nursery - 7619 Henry Ave., W.
